Emerging therapies in mental health
In this PLOS ONE curated collection we highlight a range of novel evidence-based approaches to mental health by bringing together diverse perspectives from pharmacology, psychology, psychiatry, and neuroscience to: (1) explore novel pharmacological treatment modalities; (2) investigate methods to interact with the brain invasively and non-invasively; (3) highlight novel technological approaches to the treatment and management of mental illness.
Using methods and tools at the forefront of physiology, pharmacology, cognitive sciences, psychiatry, engineering, and neuroscience, the papers in this collection propose potential solutions to therapeutic challenges often labeled intractable.
