Deep Reads
"Deep Reads" celebrates science in literature, and was started in 2013 by PLOS Genetics Interviews Editor, Jane Gitschier, with the aim of providing recommendations for books in the realms of genetics and beyond. Since then, other members of the PLOS Genetics Editorial Board have picked up their pens in a similar vein to create yearly installments for our readers. The Deep Reads blog series is a spin-off from this, where other science enthusiasts discuss books that have inspired them. From biographies of struggling scientists to light-hearted accounts from the animal kingdom, "Deep Reads" embraces the diversity that science-themed books have to offer.
