Health & Health Care in Gender Diverse Communities
The approach to health care for trans and gender diverse individuals is evolving in response to expanding knowledge of the needs in these communities, as well as a growing understanding of the wide-ranging impacts of health inequity. Historically, empirical research in this area has focused on sexual health and gender affirming care in geographically limited populations, and transmasculine and nonbinary communities are often underrepresented. In this collection we highlight research addressing the health status, health care needs, and wellbeing of trans and gender diverse individuals worldwide, throughout their lifespans.
