PLOS iGEM 2016
The iGEM Foundation is dedicated to the advancement of synthetic biology through the development of open community and collaboration. These aims are shared by PLOS, whose mission is to advance scientific communication and peer review through increased openness and sharing. In the second year of our project with iGEM, PLOS teamed up with Biotreks, the synthetic biology journal specifically for high schools, to hold a live online peer review event, where teams were encouraged to review each other’s work in real time. The teams then revised their work in line with the live peer review event comments, and either submitted an iGEM Report, or made a full PLOS ONE submission.
