Editor’s Picks: Single Cell Genomics
Rapidly advancing whole-genomic and transcriptomic technologies enable the amplification of small amounts of DNA and RNA extracted from single cells, providing us with unprecedented insight into the heterogeneity that exists normally within tissues and during development, as well as in diseases such as cancer. In this Editor’s Picks, PLOS ONE Senior Editor Nicola Stead selects recent PLOS publications highlighting recent advances in single-cell technologies and the biological insight provided by single cell genomics. PLOS welcomes submissions in these fields.
